Worrying seems to have become part of our life’s these days. Between our busy schedules, work related deadlines , work life balance and these pandemic days we’re coming up with new stressful activities for living.
We all know we need to stop worrying to have a healthy and happy life. Several centuries ago , the Mayas figured out how to reduce worry and anxiety by using some leftover scraps from weaving, wood splinters.
In original Guatemalan tradition , When family members are worried, they present them with a tiny worry doll or set of tiny worry dolls made from recycled fabric and sticks. They would tell their doll about their sorrows, fears and worries, then hide it under their pillow before going to sleep at night. According to them, those troubles are then transferred to the dolls and taken away. The very next morning, the dolls will be placed in their boxes and all worries are taken out from you.
These worry dolls shows an excellent demonstration of how the listening will take away all the worries. During these pandemic days let’s become a worry doll for someone else.
