The fundamental problem is, most of us tends to see the world through a single lens.
When we see different perspectives during the meetings, then we can’t agree.Communication/positive momentum stops there.
Edward de Bono developed a simple and efficient metaphor to facilitate meetings by looking through different perspectives. He created six thinking hats. Black, White, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue hats represent different perspectives.
Let’s look at these hats.

White hat
Facts and figures. Used near the beginning of the meeting.
Red hat
Emotional and intuitive.Used to Check the gut reaction of the people to an idea.
Black hat
Get the critical view point of an idea or situation.Helps to make the right decision.
Yellow hat

Blue hat
Sets the objectives and outline of the meeting and summarise the conclusions.Usually facilitator can wear this hat.
